The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MOA) announced the approval of Porcine Pseudorabies Inactivated Vaccine (HN1201-ΔgE Strain) for the prevention of Porcine Pseudorabies recently. The vaccine was jointly developed by NUSRI, SA Biotech and Pulike Biological Engineering, Inc..
Porcine Pseudorabies, also referred to as “Aujeszky's Disease” which is caused by Pseudorabies Virus (PRV) is a highly contagious, economically significant disease found in swine. The infection can result in abortion and birth of stillborn in pregnant sows, infertility in boars, high mortality in neonatal piglets,respiratory problems and stunted growth in growing-finishing/fattening pigs and etc.. The approved Porcine Pseudorabies Inactivated Vaccine, after conducting thorough clinical trial, can effectively prevent and control the outbreak of Pseudorabies, thus improving the welfare of livestock husbandry.
This is the third vaccine that has been issued certificate together with SA Biotech and Pulike Biological Engineering, Inc.. The previous approved two vaccines are Porcine Circovirus Type 2 Genetic Engineered Subunit Vaccine (Escherichia coli) and Porcine Circovirus Type 2 Antibody ELISA Test Kit.
